Yasuhiro Ishimoto studied under Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind in Chicago in the 1940's before he moved permanently to Japan. His books include Chicago, Chicago (Bijutsu Shuppan-sta 1969), Hana (Chronicle 1989), Katsura: Tradition and Creation in Japanese Architecture (1993), and Yasuhiro Ishimoto: A Tale of Two Cities (Art Institute of Chicago 1999).
